The RWTH Navigator can be used to plan routes to the conference buildings and to search for stops near these buildings. The main venue (auditorium "C.A.R.L.") is here: http://maps.rwth-aachen.de/navigator/?lang=en&type=roadmap&obj=1385. The main entrance is located at Claßenstr., but there is also a back entrance at Geschwister-Scholl-Str.

Some parallel sessions of the divison Particle Physics (Mon - Thu) take place in the "semi TEMP": http://maps.rwth-aachen.de/navigator/?lang=en&type=roadmap&obj=1665.

 

Ticket for Local Public Transport

A ticket for public transport is not included in the conference fee.

For the inner city area of Aachen there are single or 4-trip tickets in the "City-XL" tariff, which can be purchased directly in the buses.

Information on bus routes, timetables and the route network in Aachen can be found on the ASEAG website at http://www.aseag.de or with the help of the app "ASEAG mobile". (http://www.aseag.de/fahrplan/aseag-mobil/).

 

Arrival by Car

Via the A4 motorway (E40) (coming from Cologne) or via the A44 (coming from Mönchengladbach / Düsseldorf):

At the "Aachener Kreuz" junction continue on the A4 (E314) towards Heerlen, then at exit 2 (Aachen-Laurensberg) turn right onto "Kohlscheider Straße" (L232) towards "Zentrum" (AC-Laurensberg / Uniklinik). At the fork "Kohlscheider Straße" (direction Zentrum, AC-Laurensberg) / "Toledoring" (direction Uniklinik, Campus Melaten) keep left and follow "Kohlscheider Straße" to "Roermonder Straße". After the "Arneitsagentur" turn right into "Kühlwetterstraße", then after about 300 m turn left into "Süsterfeldstraße". After approx. 150 m turn right into "Seffenter Weg" and immediately left again into "Geschwister-Scholl-Straße". After about 250 m you will see the conference venue ("Hörsaalzentrum C.A.R.L.") on your left.

The conference venue is located in an environmental zone, entry is only possible for vehicles with a green sticker.

Parking at the conference venue and on the university parking lots is not possible, vehicles without an RWTH parking permit will be towed away. It is therefore advisable either to use a possibly existing hotel car park as well as the local inner-city traffic, or alternatively also the Park+Ride car parks or the parking houses of the "Aachener Parkhaus GmbH".

Exhibitors can obtain a RWTH guest parking card and use the parking house at Prof.-Pirlet-Str. 10, 52074 Aachen. Attention: The opening hours of the parking house are Mo-Fr, 6:45-23:00. Outside these times no entry or exit is possible!

 

Arrival by Train

If you want to travel directly to the conference venue, buy a train ticket to "Aachen West" (Westbahnhof). From there it is only a 300 m walk to the conference venue.

From Aachen main station, take the bus line 3A to the "Audimax" stop, from there it is a 150 m walk. Alternatively, take line 13A to the "Ponttor" stop, from there it is about 400 m to the conference venue.

Arrival by Plane

The nearest airports are Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn. From there there are train connections to Aachen main station, partly directly, partly with change in Düsseldorf HBf or Cologne HBf. The journey times are about 80-100 min. During the day, the trains run about every 30 minutes.

It is also possible to arrive via the Maastricht-Aachen (approx. 90-100 minutes, 2x per hour) or Brussels (approx. 80-130 min, 1x per hour) airports.
